This crochet bralette is designed for ultimate comfort and can be made in ANY SIZE! For this design, I incorporated thicker straps that tighten securely and hug your body comfortably. The top also features a dainty trim that’s subtle yet adorable. It’s all about the little details. ♡

Yarn:
This crochet bralette pattern is made using Lily Sugar ‘n Cream cotton yarn. I prefer using cotton yarn to make tops and bralettes because it tends to be more sturdy and supportive. Of course, you can substitute with any worsted-weight yarn. I especially love Lily Sugar n’ Cream because they have a variety of beautiful colors. It’s always been my go-to yarn for making tops!
MORE RECOMMENDATIONS:
Bernat Handicrafter is a perfect substitute. It’s 100% cotton, worsted-weight, and it comes in a variety of pastel, bright, and neutral shades.
Dishie from KnitPicks (shown below) is a super close alternative. It’s 100% cotton, worsted-weight yarn that comes in a huge variety of solid colors and multicolored blends.

Paintbox Yarns Recycled Cotton Worsted is another one of my favorite substitutions. This yarn is made from 100% recycled materials and comes in a variety of gorgeous shades.
Sizing:
My sizing for crochet tops has developed over years of selling them through my shop. After tons of research, measuring, testing, and customer feedback, I’ve managed to create a beautiful sizing system for a wide range of sizes from XS-5XL. Still, our bodies can all vary so much. I understand that every body is different & we all have different preferences when it comes to finding that perfectly fitted bra.
In order to accommodate all shapes & sizes, and celebrate the beauty in all of our unique bodies, I’ve written this pattern with specific instructions for sizes XS-5XL and I’ve also included custom sizing instructions. Even if you’ve never crocheted a top before, this pattern will help guide you through designing your own custom piece for that perfect, super comfortable fit.

Skill Level:
I consider this to be a beginner/intermediate level crochet pattern just because of the somewhat complicated assembly structure, however, I’ve included tons of photos to help make it easier and more beginner-friendly.

I’ll be publishing more of my crochet top patterns super soon. Make sure to subscribe to my newsletter to get notified when new patterns are released!

Crochet Bralette Pattern Structure:
This pattern is broken down into two sections: Cups, and Trim/Straps. You’ll build the cups by increasing into the 2 middle stitches at the top of each row (see photo). You may want to use stitch markers to keep track of these stitches, especially if you are following the custom sizing instructions. I’ve included tons of photos to help guide you through the pattern!

Custom Sizing (Measure-Yourself):
While this pattern is written in sizes XS-5XL, I understand that every body is different! The great thing about crocheting your own clothes is having the ability to fully customize your pieces. Throughout this pattern, I will provide tips and instructions for customizing the design to fit you perfectly. To customize your size start with the instructions below and look for the *custom sizing* notes for tips.
If you wish to customize your size, start here! If you’d prefer to use my pre-made sizes, please skip to the “CUPS” section.
Custom Sizing Instructions:
MAKE 2 CUPS
Create a foundation chain that extends from the bottom of your breast to the middle of your breast.
ROW 1: SC 1 in 2nd CH from hook and continue to SC 1 in each CH until you reach the last CH.
SC 4 in the last CH. Place stitch markers in the 2 center stitches of your SC 4. This will mark the middle stitches of the cup that you will work your increases into on the next row.
Working along the opposite side of the chain, SC 1 in each CH across.
You should end with an even number of sts in the row, with the same amount of sts on each side of your marked sts.
ROWS 2+: CH 1, turn. SC in each stitch across until you reach the 2 middle stitches at the top of the previous row. INC and place a stitch marker on the 2nd ST of the INC, INC in the next ST and place a stitch marker on the 1st ST of the INC. Continue to SC into each remaining stitch along the previous row.
You should end with an even number of sts in the row, with the same amount of sts on each side of your marked sts.
Repeat these steps for each row. Continue adding rows until the cup is wide enough to provide you with your desired amount of coverage.
Keep in mind that the trim will add about half an inch to each cup.
Once the 1st cup is completed, cut the yarn and FO.
Once the 2nd cup is completed, DO NOT cut the yarn. Leave yarn attached to begin crocheting the trim.
Skip ahead to the TRIM/STRAPS section.

Once the 1st cup is completed, cut the yarn and FO.
Once the 2nd cup is completed, DO NOT cut the yarn. Leave yarn attached to begin crocheting the trim.

Trim/Straps:
Connecting the cups:
STEP 1: With the yarn still attached to the 2nd cup, CH 1 and SC evenly along the bottom of the cup.
Note: You should have twice the number of stitches along the bottom as there are rows in the cup. For example, if your cup has 15 rows, you should have 30 SC along the bottom.
STEP 2: Once you reach the end, CH 3(3, 3, 3, 3, 5, 5, 5, 5) and then SC into the end of the last row on the 1st cup to connect them. (Make sure both cups are facing the same direction)
*custom sizing tip* When creating the chain between cups, you can adjust depending on how much space you need to fit you the best. Use an odd number of sts.
I recommend keeping this chain on the shorter side; if you create too large of a gap between the cups, your top will not be as comfortable and supportive.
STEP 3: Continue to SC evenly along the bottom of the cup.
Total stitch count, including chain between cups [51(59, 67, 75, 83, 93, 101, 109, 117)]
Your stitch counts will be different if you’re following the custom sizing tips/instructions

Bottom band:
ROW 1: CH 1, turn. Then, SC 1 into each st that you created in the “CONNECTING THE CUPS” section [51(59, 67, 75, 83, 93, 101, 109, 117)]
SIZES XS & SMALL STOP HERE & CONTINUE TO “LAST ROW OF BOTTOM TRIM FOR ALL SIZES”
*custom sizing tip* You can repeat this row up to 5 times to add additional support to the bottom band of your bralette.
ROW 2: CH 1, turn. SC across [0(0, 67, 75, 83, 93, 101, 109, 117)]
SIZES MEDIUM & LARGE STOP HERE & CONTINUE TO “LAST ROW OF BOTTOM TRIM FOR ALL SIZES”

SIZES 2XL & 3XL STOP HERE & CONTINUE TO “LAST ROW OF BOTTOM TRIM FOR ALL SIZES”
ROW 5: CH 1, turn. SC across [0(0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 109, 117)]
SIZES 4XL & 5XL STOP HERE & CONTINUE TO “LAST ROW OF BOTTOM TRIM FOR ALL SIZES”
LAST ROW OF BOTTOM TRIM FOR ALL SIZES: CH 1, turn. SC 1, * CH 1, SK 1, SC 1 * repeat from * to * across [51(59, 67, 75, 83, 93, 101, 109, 117)]

Straps & trim:
STEP 1: With yarn still attached, create a long chain. Make sure the chain is long enough to stretch to the middle of your back and tie in a bow. Use an even number of sts.
Feel free to use this guide to determine your strap length:
XS – CH 80
S – CH 86
M – CH 90
L – CH 96
XL – CH 100
2XL – CH 106
3XL – CH 110
4XL – CH 116
5XL – CH 120
STEP 2: SC 1 into the 2nd CH from hook. * CH 1, SK 1, SC 1 * repeat from * to * along your chain.
STEP 3: SC 1 into the bottom trim. (At the base of the last st on the last row of your bottom trim)

STEP 4: * CH 1, SK 1, SC 1 * repeat from * to * along the side of your top until you reach the top of the cup. Add an extra SC if needed to make sure you are ending with a SC in the 1st middle st.

STEP 5: Now create another long chain for the neck strap. (Same length as your 1st strap)
STEP 6: SC 1 into the 2nd CH from hook. * CH 1, SK 1, SC 1 * repeat from * to * along your chain.
STEP 7: SC 1 into the 2nd middle st on the top of the cup. * CH 1, SK 1, SC 1 * repeat from * to * along the side of the cup until you reach the bottom of the cup.

STEP 8: Recall the number of sts in the chain you created between your cups.
If CH 3 – SC 1 into the center of the space between your cups.
If CH 5 – CH 1, SC 1 into the center of the space between your cups, CH 1.
If CH 7 or more – CH 2, SC 1 into the center of the space between your cups, CH 2.
STEP 9: SC 1 into the bottom of the cup.

STEP 10: Repeat steps 4 through 6.

STEP 11: SC 1 into the 2nd middle st on the top of the cup. * CH 1, SK 1, SC 1 * repeat from * to * along the side of the cup until you reach the last row of the bottom trim.
STEP 12: Make a long chain to create the 2nd back strap. Then, SC 1 into the 2nd CH from hook. * CH 1, SK 1, SC 1 * repeat from * to * along your chain.

STEP 13: SL ST to connect to the beginning of your trim.
STEP 14: Cut yarn and FO. Weave in all yarn tails. Then, you’re all done!
