Yarn:

This fingerless gloves crochet pattern is made using Vanna’s Choice yarn by Lion Brand. I also love creating these gloves with Landscapes yarn by Lion Brand. Of course, you can substitute with any worsted-weight yarn. I especially love Vanna’s Choice because they have a variety of gorgeous hues that are perfect for autumn & winter.

Sizing:

This pattern is made in an adult size. You can adjust the size by simply crocheting more or less rows, or by using a larger/smaller crochet hook. I have also included instructions for adjusting the length of your gloves at the end of this pattern. Make sure to subscribe to my newsletter for updates on new projects and free crochet patterns!

Fingerless Gloves Crochet Pattern:

Make 2 gloves

Ch 21

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 sts. For the next 10 sts, alternate between dc & sc starting with a dc. Sc in the remaining sts. (20)

Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in the first 6 sts. For the next 10 sts, alternate between dc & sc starting with a dc. Sc in the remaining sts. (20)

Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in the first 4 sts. For the next 10 sts, alternate between dc & sc starting with a dc. Sc in the remaining sts. (20)

Rows 4 – 18: Repeat rows 2 & 3

Row 19: [This is the row where you’ll be making a thumb hole] Ch 1, turn. Sc in the first 4 sts. Ch 5, skip 5. Sc in the next st. For the next 4 sts, alternate between dc & sc starting with a dc. Sc in the remaining sts. (20)

Rows 20 – 22: Repeat rows 2 & 3 again.

At the end of row 22 cut the yarn (leaving a long tail that will be used to sew the edges together), fasten off.

*Note: you might want to check your gauge or make sure the glove fits all the way around your wrists with your thumb through the thumb hole.

  • If the gloves are too small, continue to repeat rows 2 & 3 until they are wide enough.
  • If the gloves are too large, make the thumb hole on a lower, odd numbered row and only repeat rows 2 & 3 until they are wide enough.

Finishing Instructions:

[Finish both gloves before assembly] Fold gloves in half vertically before you stitch them up. Lay them side by side and make sure the thumbholes are both facing inward. Sew the long edges of each glove together with a tapestry needle. Fasten off securely and weave in loose ends. Turn your gloves right side out and you’re all done!

Adjusting the Length (optional):

If you want to make your gloves longer, simply increase the foundation chain by multiples of 2, and increase the alternating dc/sc stitches by the same amount.

For example, if you add 4 stitches to your gloves the pattern will look like this:

Ch 25

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 sts. For the next 14 sts, alternate between dc & sc starting with a dc. Sc in the remaining sts. (24)

Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in the first 6 sts. For the next 14 sts, alternate between dc & sc starting with a dc. Sc in the remaining sts. (24)

Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in the first 4 sts. For the next 14 sts, alternate between dc & sc starting with a dc. Sc in the remaining sts. (24)

Rows 4 – 18: Repeat rows 2 & 3

Row 19: [This is the row where you’ll be making a thumb hole] Ch 1, turn. Sc in the first 4 sts. Ch 5, skip 5. Sc in the next st. For the next 8 sts, alternate between dc & sc starting with a dc. Sc in the remaining sts. (24)

Rows 20 – 22: Repeat rows 2 & 3 again.

Follow the same steps from the original pattern to finish your gloves!
