The Lemon Peel stitch used for this pattern gives the cozy a soft, beautiful texture. It will be constructed by simply crocheting a rectangle and then seaming it together.
Want to make a pair of gloves to match your cozy? I also have a pattern for fingerless gloves that’s created using the same technique and materials. My Cozy Fingerless Gloves Crochet Pattern can be found here.
Yarn:
This pattern is made using Vanna’s Choice yarn by Lion Brand. I also love creating these cozies with Landscapes yarn by Lion Brand. Of course, you can substitute with any worsted-weight yarn.
A couple of my favorite alternatives are Paintbox Yarns Simply Aran from LoveCrafts, and Brava Worsted from Knit Picks.
Sizing:
This pattern is made to fit standard coffee cups. You can adjust the size by simply crocheting more or less rows, or by using a larger/smaller crochet hook. Each cozy will not require much yarn. This pattern is perfect for using up leftover yarn from other projects. Make sure to subscribe to my newsletter for updates on new projects and patterns!

- This cozy will start out as a rectangle that will then be sewn up.
Pattern:
Ch 13
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next 2 sts. For the next 6 sts, alternate between dc & sc starting with a dc. Sc in the last 3 sts. (12)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in the first 3 sts. For the next 6 sts, alternate between dc & sc starting with a dc. Sc in the last 3 sts. (12)
Rows 3 – 30: Repeat row 2
Cut the yarn (leaving a long tail that will be used to sew the edges together), fasten off.

Fold your cozy in half and sew the edges together with your yarn needle (I recommend using a blanket stitch). Fasten off securely and weave in loose ends. Turn your cozy right side out. You’re all done! ♡

Hi! I used a 6mm hook and did the 13 chains but my square was waaaay too small to fit around a cup 🙁 did I do something wrong ?
Hi Moriah! I would double check that your gauge matches the gauge in the pattern! You could also just continue adding more rows until your cozy fits around the cup you’re making it for ☺️
